National MLO Sales

We are currently seeking a Mortgage Consultant to promote and sell mortgage products to existing and potential bank clients and non-clients contacted through different sources such as branch referrals and walk-in clients on Bank premises, Internet Inquiries, and self-sourced applications from referral partners.  

In this role you will ensure the achievement of individualized production goals, operational excellence and growth and profitability, while maintaining a personal pipeline of retail mortgage loans. 

In this position, you will:


  • Ensure you provide professional and timely consultation to customers and prospective customers, referrals, walk-ins and personal prospects to offer the best available mortgage product which includes:

    1) obtaining and processing mortgage loan applications;
    2) pre-qualifying customers for appropriate mortgage loan products based on customers’ credit profile;
    3) reviewing credit loan files;
    4) collecting, reviewing and submitting necessary documentation to facilitate the processing of the loan through to the mortgage closing and post-closing as needed:
    5)  preparing and providing required disclosures throughout the loan process and;
    6) providing ethical consultation to ensure loans meet quality control standards and are in compliance with all applicable regulatory guidelines.
  •  Review business trends and advise customers regarding expected fluctuations. 
  • Support department business goals through effectively managing personal pipeline to drive volume.
  • Visit with clients and prospective clients regularly and recommend products or applicable services.
  • Participate in home financing expos and events to increase brand awareness and mortgage volume.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations and adhere to general bank regulatory procedures including BSA/AML as it pertains to “know your customer”.

To be considered, you will need:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of loan consultation experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.   English/Spanish bilingual preferred.
  • Effective sales ability and persuasiveness.
  • Must have intermediate to advanced computer and analytical skills.
  • This position requires National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E Act of 2008 and Regulation Z.  You will be subject to the required registration process, which includes a criminal background and credit check. 

Salary Range Information

Our base salary for this position located in New York City generally ranges between $40,000.00 and $40,000.00​ annually, depending on business need and on your qualifications and experience. Base salary does not include incentive compensation, commission, or any other type of remuneration or benefits. Base salary may vary if position is based in other geographic locations.
