General Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Business Activities

    •  Co-create management strategy presentations, as well as a series of business briefs and other financial communications as the Annual Report in collaboration with management.

    • Prepare ad hoc financial analysis reports such as: forecast analysis, producer profitability analysis, product sales analysis, client analysis, growth opportunities analysis, benchmarking analysis.

    • Periodically update the Insurance Business profitability model; analyze results and discuss findings and recommendations with management.

  • Sales Plan

    • Monitor the development, revision, and analysis of each line of business sales plan.

    • Continuously review format and contents to secure a best-in-class Sales Plan Document.

    • Support strategic projects including evaluation, planning, and monitoring.

  • Budget

    • Lead the preparation of budget guidance, meetings, critical path, and milestones.

    • Support managers as liaison with the accounting unit in the preparation of the budget.

    • Lead the monitoring of forecast monthly.

  • Forecast

    • Assist each manager in the development of financial modeling and forecasting.

    • Assist and support financial and non-financial personnel regarding variance analysis. 

    • Communicate the financial conditions of lines of business and raise issues with recommendations when required.

  • Peer Review and Metrics

    • Lead the development, consolidation, and monitoring of critical metrics.

    • Assist and coordinate the preparation of the Marsh Berry PHP reports.

    • Research best-in-class metrics for insurance programs in financial institutions.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration with concentration in Accounting and/or Finance; Engineering, Information Systems, or higher degree such as MBA or JD.
  • The following certifications and/or licenses are recommended yet not required: 

    • CPCU, CLU, CIC, or CRM Designation
       

 

Experience

  • Related experience of no less than 3 years required. A JD or MBA degree will comply with the experience requirement.

  • Excellent people skills and teamwork.
  • Dexterity to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously without supervision.
  • Oral and written Communication in Spanish and English. Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Demonstrates group presentation skills.
  • Collects, research and complements data; Synthesizes complex or diverse information
  • Demonstrates attention to detail; Generate creative solutions.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Develops alternative solutions.
  • Proficiency in Word Processing, Presentations, Spreadsheet, Internet, other related software.
  • Demonstrate ability in project management, identification of business needs, work plan, time management, resource allocation, team management, and change management. Must demonstrate leadership, logic, and reasoning skills.
