General Description

Help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Commercial Lines Team. You will be responsible for providing customer service and insurance advice for a portfolio of commercial customers, soliciting of new business and support of Sale Center new business efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop deep understanding of client operations and risk exposures.
  • Identify specific client needs and develop innovative and cost-effective solutions working in team with Sales Representative.
  • Reviewing insurance applications determining coverage applicable to the customer, underwriting alternatives, and negotiating policy terms and premiums.
  • Examining insurance proposals.
  • Excellent knowledge of insurance policies and ability to relate police provisions to loss exposure.
  • Manage the commercial portfolio renewals providing the best alternative to customers and following the insurance carriers underwriting guides.
  • Ensure that all insurance documents received from other agencies and/ or insurance companies are accurate and complete.
  • Ensure that all reporting policies are liquidated in accordance with the reporting clauses stated under the policies and, if needed, provide follow-up to the respective Account Executive and/or Producer.
  • Performed all insurance documents according to the established service levels.
  • Answer inquiries related to commercial policies coverages.
  • Analyses on commercial property appraisal to determine the insurance coverage and limits of insurance and ensure that the forced placement policies are issued in accordance with the replacement cost declared in the appraisal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Cont.)

  • Coordinate the issuance of force placement policies.
  • Seek insurance alternatives for the placement of commercial properties with high value or risk exposure.
  • Prepare tasks for all the billing and distribution transactions such as new and renewal business including endorsements.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or other

Experience

Minimum five (5) years of commercial insurance experience with an insurance agency or company, preferably.

Certifications / Licenses

The following certifications and/or licenses are recommended:
Certified Insurance Counselor

Certified Risk Manager

Other Qualifications

  • Collects, researches and complements data; Synthesizes complex or diverse information.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail; Applies design principles; Generate creative solutions.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Develops alternative solutions.
  • Oral and written Communication in Spanish and English. Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Demonstrates group presentation skills. Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Presents numerical data effectively.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Proficiency in Next Gen, Word Processing, spreadsheet, Internet, other related software.
  • Knowledge of Insurance products, services, underwriting, guidelines and business laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling risk exposures to insurance carriers. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, Knowledge of insurance carriers’ products and services to provide the quality in service advise.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others, as well as independently.
