Senior Product Manager - Consumer and Business Lending
Product Management
The Senior Product Manager – Consumer & Business Lending owns the full product management lifecycle for multiple products or a single complex product and is passionate about putting the customer first to deliver innovative banking solutions, outcomes, and experiences that enable customers to succeed.
In this position, you will:
Strategy Owner
- Sets the strategic direction of multiple products or a single complex product by defining and communicating the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and segment strategies.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders on customer research, utilizing human-centered discovery methods. Leverages resulting insights, internal data, and market feedback to identify product opportunities, close gaps, and enhance client satisfaction.
- Conducts market research to proactively identify product design opportunities, close competitive gaps, and understand competitive trends.
- Builds business cases for new value propositions, as well as enhancements to existing value propositions, based on customer needs and competitive landscape. Responsible for analyzing financial information, including feasibility assessments and profitability, including pricing, operational costs, and recurring revenue.
- Develops and manages a product roadmap by prioritizing features based on market and competitive analysis. Aligns priorities with Sales and Segment teams to drive continuous product enhancement and successful launches, ensuring customer needs are met.
Outcome Owner and Domain Expert
- Defines, measures, and provides visibility of product metrics, including performance, adoption, usability, quality of enhancements, and achievement of OKRs.
- Accountable for the financial success and viability of complex products within the Business Line, taking responsibility for profitability and overall outcomes.
- Leverages subject matter or domain expertise to understand customer needs, communicate effectively with product stakeholders, make informed decisions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and identify opportunities for innovation.
- Collaborates with functional areas and product teams to develop content that supports the product value proposition for delivery through training, marketing, communications, and process and compliance procedures.
- Leads and or supports change management plans for sales strategies, training, and delivery processes in collaboration with Sales, Segment, and Digital teams.
- Demonstrates thought leadership by integrating analytics to provide actionable insights that enable key product decisions. Synthesizes analysis for audiences at different levels to gain buy-in for tactical and strategic plans.
- Responsible for ensuring the successful launch of new products, including stakeholder alignment and engagement, drafting BRDs, partnering with Core Systems on product design, managing the New Product Committee process, ensuring end-to-end testing prior to launch, and resolving post-launch issues promptly.
- Leads resolution or remediation of product issues and opportunities for improvement, acting as quarterback with partner teams including data entry, loan operations, branch administration, credit, and fraud.
- Responsible for responding to requests from audit, risk, compliance, legal, and other monitoring bodies related to products under management.
People Leader
- Guides cross-functional teams through influential leadership, fostering a supportive environment, facilitating optimal team performance, and efficiently managing resources.
Champion New Ways of Working
- Applies prioritization frameworks to rank features against strategic goals, making trade-off decisions based on value to customers and the business. Defines feature requirements and desired user experience in alignment with Product, Sales, and Segment teams.
- Drives continuous end-user engagement by enabling customer feedback, insight generation, experimentation, and roadmap solution development.
To be considered, you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience with product management and end-to-end product delivery.
- Experience analyzing data to understand customer behavior and derive insights.
- Experience working in cross-functional product teams to deliver a consumer-focused product.
- Experience with business case development, presentation and approval processes including building a budget and securing project funding.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and constructive relationships with key external business partners/vendors and internal partners.
Desirable Education/Experience:
- Experience managing complex projects/programs in a critical environment.
- Experience with market research techniques and familiarity with customer-centric design thinking principles.
- Experience in retail banking/financial services is preferred.
