Strategic Analysis

The Business Analyst position will be centrally aligned to the Finance & Strategic Planning team supporting Marketing, Product Development, and Private Banking.  The right candidate will be a trusted strategic partner; and be able to support a wide breadth of people and issues spanning the organization.

In this position, you will:

Management Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop ad-hoc analytics and reporting to help the business better understand and manage its costs, risks, capital usage, pricing, growth opportunities, etc.
  • Create and administer various Incentive Compensation Plans
  • Generate & propose key performance indicators
  • Track and report progress against business/sales strategy
  • Complete in-depth reviews as required

Business Strategy and Growth

  • Act as a trusted advisor and counterweight to the Senior Management Team (SMT)
  • Partner with SMT members to develop Strategy for the business
  • Own and ensure delivery of strategic business initiatives
  • Align front office teams and support groups to business priorities
  • Business case development and validation

Provide Ad Hoc / General Business analytics support

To be considered, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fiance, Accounting or Economics preferred
  • At least 2 Years of banking industry experience
  • Must be an expert in Microsoft Power Point and proficient with Excel
  • Experience with Cognos/TM1 a plus
  • Adept presentation skills with an ability to target messaging to different audiences
  • Exceptional organizational skills and an ability to handle multiple tasks to meet extremely tight deadlines
  • Able to articulate complex issues and themes to stakeholders
  • Ability to connect the dots and make sense of information across multiple data points upstream/downstream that may not be easily noticeable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high attention to detail
  • Confidence to interact directly with Senior Management Team members
  • Ability to influence senior leaders:
    • Establishes rapport and trust with Business Heads and other leaders
    • Fortitude to act as a counter-weight to senior leaders
  • Strong delivery focus:
    • Action-orientated problem-solver
    • Willingness to take responsibility
