Commercial Relationship Officer - Equipment Leasing

We are currently seeking a seasoned HEALTHCARE COMMERCIAL RELATIONSHIP OFFICER to join our National Healthcare Commercial Banking team.  In this position you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of credit and non-credit relationships with commercial customers, corporate accounts, vendor partners and potential customers while rendering quality service in accordance with bank goals to attain growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

In this position, you will:

 

  • Manage customer relationships within an assigned portfolio as well as developing the portfolio through increasing span of current relationships and searching new business through referrals and COI’s. 
  • Visit clients and prospective clients regularly, interview and analyze the financial structure of customers and prospects and recommend products or applicable services.
  • Analyze financial statements, collateral, documents, and process commercial loan application and make recommendations regarding credit request.
  • Develop and expand assigned commercial relationships to drive profitability.
  • Review and analyze commercial lease reports, direct liability, non-performing and new lease requests.
  • Build effective relationships and trust with clients and potential clients by listening to and uncovering their needs and educating them about the bank products and services that are most appropriate for their situation.
  • Build effective relationships within the Bank to work collaboratively with various divisions to achieve various goals.
  • Adhere to general bank regulatory procedures including BSA/AML as it pertains to “know your customer.
  • Pro-actively seek information from clients and prospective clients to understand possible changing situations, needs and desired benefits and evaluate product or service alternatives.
  • Establish and maintain thorough prospect file, review and access on a scheduled basis to present new products, services, rate promotions, campaigns, etc.
  • Apply newly gained knowledge, skill or technique to current work and share successes with other team members.
  • Keep updated on changes to banking/leasing environment, bank/leasing competition and customer's business environment. 
     

To be considered, you will need:

 

  • COI's within the healthcare segments 
  • Ability to research and analyze financial statements
  • Complete knowledge of all commercial bank laws, bank products, services, policies and procedures as well as cost accounting, financial and statistical analysis, principles of commercial and consumer credit
  • Ability to use various interpersonal styles and communication methods, depending on customer and situation, to gain their acceptance of a product or service
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes
  • Computer literate: fluency in Microsoft Office programs, Excel and Salesforce required
  • Effective sales ability and persuasiveness
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships and contacts with professional and business organizations and develop teamwork with co-workers in other related units
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation & follow-up skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field combined with a minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial credit & sales

Base Salary & Benefits

Our base salary for this position located in New York generally ranges between  $105,000.00 and $130,000.00  annually, depending on business need and on your qualifications and experience. Base salary does not include incentive compensation, commission, or any other type of remuneration or benefits.

In addition to salary, Popular's well-rounded benefits package for regular full-time and part-time employees includes a comprehensive health plan, flexible time off options, and savings and investment plans. Seasonal/temporary employees are not eligible for these benefits.
