Residential Mortgage Credit - US

We are looking for a Commercial Credit Analyst to join our Commercial Banking Team in New York, NY. In this position you will be responsible for reviewing documentation in detail for all new and existing condominium and cooperative projects to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as the requirements of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac credit policies

In this position, you will:

  • Ensure condominiums and cooperatives projects are reviewed accurately and promptly
  • Ensure condominiums and cooperatives meet Fannie Mae, FHLMC or PB non-warrantable guidelines
  • Determine eligibility of a project by review of Project Questionnaire, Appraisals, Budgets and financial statements/1120S, Bylaws, Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions- CC&R's Insurance Declarations, Leasehold Agreements, and Offering Plans & Amendments
  • Communicate project status (approval, suspense, denial) to all appropriate parties
  • Primary contact for HOA, Management Agents, Developers, Sponsors, and coop boards to obtain any additional information
  • Maintain an internal project database
  • Ensure data accuracy
  • Deliver excellent customer service to Sales and Operations staff
  • Complete other miscellaneous credit related duties as assigned by the credit supervisor

To be considered, you will need:

  • 5 years of experience underwriting Projects such as Condo, Co-ops, and Attached PUDs
  • Familiarity with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac credit policy and non-warrantable project underwriting guidelines
  • Pipeline management experience required
  • 4-year degree required.  The bank may consider applicants with 6+ years of experience underwriting projects suchs as Condo, Co-ops, and Attached PUDs
  • Private Bank experience preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in the mortgage lending business preferred
    Residential Mortgage Credit Underwriting experience a plus
  • Must have excellent teamwork orientation and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment
  • Computer literate; fluency in Microsoft Office programs, Excel analysis required
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships both internally and externally.
