We are currently searching for a full-time Teller to join our dynamic retail banking team! This position is primarily responsible for the accurate processing of paying and receiving transactions while providing courteous, timely and informative service to ensure that the customer feels completely satisfied. Emphasis is placed on identifying clients’ needs and insuring customers receive a positive impression of the organization.

In this position, you will:

  • Effectively execute teller banking transactions in accordance with Popular’s policies and procedures and in adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

 

  • Process payment and receipt of transactions for all product types and services accurately, courteously and in accordance with established policies and procedures.  Reference the client by name in all transactions to provide personalized service.

 

  • Responsible to act in accordance of all bank policies and regulation to ensure the branch passes assessment and audits.

 

  • Work with branch manager and supervisor to attain or exceed individual goals.

 

  • Confidently build effective, trust-based relationships with clients by listening and uncovering their needs to gain in-depth knowledge of client’s financial life priorities in order to deepen customer relationship and refer the products/services that are most appropriate for their situation.

 

  • Support marketing campaigns and product launches, modifying sales techniques and leveraging marketing tools and branch technology to achieve results.

 

  • Educate clients on self-service capabilities and encourage use of digital service channels/banking options (e.g. smart ATM, online and mobile banking, online transfers, People Pay, Mobile Cash, Bill Pay, Digital Wallets, etc.).

 

  • Effectively respond to customers requesting to update or close their accounts, determining reason for dissatisfaction and offer possible alternatives; process account maintenances in a compliant manner.

To be considered, you will need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one year of demonstrated successful sales experience and six months cash handling experience or equivalent related experience and training.

 

  • Ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure that work is completed accurately and efficiently within established time frame.

 

  • Ability to positively interact with customers in difficult and demanding situations and use various interpersonal styles and communication methods depending on customer and situation, to gain acceptance of a product or service. 

 

  • Knowledge of cash handling, teller transactions, cash organization, asset protection, accounting journal entries, effects consolidation and preparation, cash dispenser and balancing.  Knowledge of branch operational procedures, policies and norms.

 

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships both internally and externally. 

 

  • Knowledge in the following skills:  sales, referrals.
