Financial Sales Assistant

We are currently searching for a licensed Financial Sales Assistant to join our Popular Investments team. You will be primarily responsible for the effective servicing of investor and consumer account portfolios. Successful attainment of the required FINRA licensing detailed below within seven (7) months of the initial hire date will facilitate the incumbent’s success in expanding client relationships and providing a comprehensive team-based support network for client relationships with the Financial Consultants.
You will provide direct sales to clients and sales-related administrative support for our Financial Consultant team at Popular Insurance, USA, Inc. You will report directly to our National Program Manager.
In this position, you will:
- Assist in the administration, development, implementation and execution of the overall Popular Investments wealth management program, through direct and material support of business related functions, inclusive of direct sales and administrative support to an individual Financial Consultant or team of Financial Consultants to which you may belong to a dedicated group
- Provide direct and material support to an individual Financial Consultant or team of Financial Consultants relative to the following:
- acting as a direct liaison between clients and Financial Consultants (as dictated by the applicable FINRA licenses held), assisting such clients with any general questions or matters pertaining to their account(s). Timely respond to client needs and concerns and schedule client appointments with a Financial Consultant when necessary;
- become knowledgeable and develop a deep understanding of clients’ needs by conducting a needs-based analysis and reviewing the details of same with clients and the Financial Consultant;
- as FINRA licenses permit, sell and cross-sell investment products to existing and new customers to meet established individual and team sales goals;
- assist Financial Consultants with duties including, but not limited to, prospecting and meeting clients, making and conducting appointments, processing paperwork, maintaining books and records, and other duties as assigned; and
- schedule client appointments for Financial Consultants and update Financial Consultants, branch, and private banking teams relative to scheduled appointments
- Meet or exceed established individual sales and client service related goals and objectives
- Compile data and produce management reports as needed (i.e. branch referrals, sales and trade blotter)
- Assist in the preparation of seminars, call nights, focus days, presentations and proposals
- Ensure strict adherence to all applicable Popular Bank, Popular Investments, and Infinex policies and procedures, together with all applicable industry related laws, rules, and regulations
- Proactively participate in educational and training opportunities to stay apprised of changes in applicable regulatory guidance and best practices as it relates to non-deposit products, generally
- Process security transactions using Online Computer Systems
- Attend and actively participate in scheduled departmental, branch, and private banking related meetings and conference calls
- Assist the National Program Manager as needed with related duties
To be considered, you will need:
- HS Diploma/GED required with at least one to two years of specialized experience in financial services or insurance sales, preferably in an administrative capacity under the direction of a licensed Financial Advisor
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent through specialized coursework and training preferred
- Strong knowledge of securities products, sales and service techniques
- FINRA licensing required (SIE/S7/S63/Life/Health) within seven (7) months of initial hire date. Training and study materials will be provided
- Strong sales acumen, presentation, marketing and negotiation skills required
- High degree of proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
- Fluency in Spanish desired but not required
- Ability to travel among New York City/Miami-Dade/Broward locations, as applicable, on a regular basis
Base Salary & Benefits
Our base salary for this position located in New York City or New Jersey generally ranges between $38.56 and $48.72 hourly, depending on business need and on your qualifications and experience. Base salary does not include incentive compensation, commission, or any other type of remuneration or benefits.
In addition to salary, Popular's well-rounded benefits package for regular full-time and part-time employees includes a comprehensive health plan, flexible time off options, and savings and investment plans. Seasonal/temporary employees are not eligible for these benefits.
