Wire Transfer Technician | US Wire-Outside PR (Remote)

General Description

This role provides operational support for Popular Bank's Wire Transfer Department by processing and monitoring incoming and outgoing wire transfer transactions, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•    Perform operational support functions for the Wire Transfer Department.
•    Process, initiate, verify, and release incoming and outgoing transactions through the Wire Transfer System, ensuring accurate processing, compliance with established procedures, and adherence to cutoff times.
•    Monitor the status of wire transfers, including the OFAC queue, obtain appropriate approvals, and release transactions in accordance with established guidelines.
•    Review wire transfer transactions to ensure funds are accurately debited and credited to the appropriate accounts.
•    Initiate wire transfer investigations at the request of customers or financial institutions. Investigate and research investigations, claims and disputes, and suspicious or fraudulent transactions in accordance with state and federal regulations.  
•    Identify and escalate exceptions to the Department Supervisor.
•    Ensure compliance with Federal Reserve guidelines, applicable laws and regulations, department guidelines, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements governing Wire Transfer Operations while maintaining maximum level of accuracy, quality, timeliness of work and providing optimum customer service and satisfaction.
•    Provide operational support to Puerto Rico operations during emergency situations and other business needs to ensure business continuity.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience

Note: Related experience refers to the professional background related to the responsibilities and skills required for the position.

Experience

Two (2) years of previous experience in banking operations or payment processing preferred.

Additional Requirements

•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English (bilingual).
•    Availability to travel to Puerto Rico, New Jersey, and Miami as required to support business needs.
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook.
•    Customer service oriented.
•    Ability to stay focused and prioritize tasks effectively.
•    Strong research and data gathering skills.
•    Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
•    Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
•    Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
•    Fast and accurate typing skills.
•    Knowledge of banking laws and regulations, branch operations and/or foreign currency transactions.

Monday to Friday
Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including start times of 9:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and 10:30 a.m., based on business needs.
Flexibility to work non-business hours, holidays, and weekend when needed
