The Opportunity

Enterprise Data & Analytics Operations Lead in our organization is entrusted with the responsibility of aligning the Enterprise Data & Analytics function with Popular's overarching objectives. This key role focuses on refining and implementing communication strategies, change management protocols, and outreach initiatives, which are integral to the success of our data and analytics operations. Additionally, this role is responsible for overseeing risk & issue management and makings sure projects are appropriately allocated the budget and staffing. As an expert in Enterprise Data & Analytics, the Operations Lead plays a pivotal role in streamlining requests, managing capacity, and overseeing the entire lifecycle of program planning and execution.

Your key responsibilities:

You will be part of diverse teams of professionals across different geographies to deliver a wide range of data and analytics services. You will be solving complex issues and driving growth across the Enterprise Data & Analytics function.

Specifically:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies and processes for the ED&A function, ensuring alignment with Popular’s broader objectives.
  • Lead centralized intake and capacity management processes for ED&A requests, ensuring efficient and effective response and fulfilment.
  • Direct the Agile transformation initiative across the ED&A function, establishing cross-functional Agile teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
  • Oversee the collaboration with business and IT leaders for strategic planning and operational excellence.
  • Provide operations reporting, analysis, and executive support for ED&A initiatives, ensuring transparency and visibility of operations performance and strategic outcomes.
  • Manage vendor relationships, oversee procurement processes and performance tracking for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of metrics and benchmarks to measure project health, ensuring timely reporting to relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee budget and financial management, ensuring projects remain within allocated resources.
  • Oversee management of risks and issues, devising strategies to mitigate potential challenges.
  • Ensure optimal resource utilization, aligning team strengths with project requirements.
  • Oversee the portfolio management process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Champion knowledge management initiatives, fostering a culture of information sharing and continuous learning.
  • Maintain constant communication with managers, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations across the organization.
  • Ensure appropriate resourcing meeting staffing requirements across the organization as needed.

 

 

 

To qualify for the role, you must have:

 

  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. An MBA or a related advanced degree is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 – 20 years of experience in a relevant operations role, with at least 7 years in a leadership capacity within an Enterprise Data & Analytics context.
  • Proven experience in leading Transformational initiatives and leading multiple teams.
  • Proven experience in driving operational excellence, implementing Agile methodologies, and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Multiple years of financial and account management and reporting experience
  • Exceptional project management skills and experience in managing vendor relationships.
  • Strong understanding of data and analytics concepts, trends, and industry best practices.
  • Certifications such as PMP, Agile, or Lean Six Sigma are considered a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A track record of exceptional partnering across a various internal business groups, executive stakeholders, and execution partners with ability to build solid relationships with individuals at all levels.
  • Being capable of adjusting strategies or processes in response to dynamic business environments and unexpected changes.
  • Multiple years of experience with data and analytics initiatives building data warehouses, data lakes, data mesh, etc. involving cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure, GCP, AWS, Snowflake, and Redshift and ETL & BI tools like Informatica, Talend, DBT, DataStage, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.
  • Experience with managing advance analytics, AI/ML, and GenAI initiatives.
