General Description

  • Supports the Cyber-Fraud Fusion Team in the analysis of cybersecurity and fraud prevention data, while leveraging business intelligence tools to produce data-driven solutions that support the continuous development and strengthening of our corporate information security posture, with the objective of better detect, alert and prevent cyber-fraud criminal activity conducted against our customers and our institution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Data Management

    • Understand business data and requirements.

    • Use business intelligence tools to:

      • Extract and transform data from their corresponding sources.

      • Perform data validation to assess quality and meaning of data.

      • Identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends that will support threat intelligence strategies.

      • Produce relevant information to support the development of new fraud detection methods and their cohesion with our cybersecurity policies and procedures.

      • Summarize and present data to Management for decision-making and operation visibility purposes.

  • Documentation

    • Support in the development of procedural and/or business requirement documents.

    • Prepares reporting/presentation material for senior management, internal/external clients/providers, etc.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This Job has no supervisory responsibilities but in special circumstances may lead the work of others.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Statistics, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science and/or Business Administration.

Experience

  • At least two (2) years of related experience and training, including experience in data analytics. Knowledge in fraud prevention and/or cybersecurity is preferred.

Certifications and Licenses (Nice to have)

  • Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) Certification
  • Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC)
  • Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate Certification
  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) Certification
  • SAS Certified Data Scientist Certification

Other Qualifications

  • Analytical: Collects, researches, and complements data. Synthesizes complex or diverse information. Displays proficiency in data summarization and visualization (particularly based on big data sources), and general knowledge of statistical concepts such as: population identification, sample generation, descriptive or inferential statistics (ex. Means, standard deviations, probability).
  • Design: Demonstrates attention to detail. Applies design principles. Generates creative solutions.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Develops alternative solutions.
  • Oral Communication: (Spanish and English) Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Demonstrates group presentation skills.
  • Written Communication: (Spanish and English) Writes clearly and informatively. Edits work for spelling and grammar. Presents numerical data effectively.
  • Focus: Stays focused on main issues, prevents irrelevant issues or distractions from interfering with timely completion of assignments.
  • Has the ability to work independently and/or as part of a team, with little to no supervision.
  • Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions and/or approaches to problems.
  • Is organized, result-oriented and committed to meeting deadlines. Is a Fast-learner, proactive and self-taught individual.
  • Can work under pressure and deal with innovation and constant/rapid changes.
  • Demonstrates flexibility of mind and receptiveness to new ideas. Has problem-solving, inquiry and critical thinking skills. 
  • Is systematic and meticulous with details to effectively process large amounts of data into meaningful information.
  • Can effectively coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within establishing time frames.
