General Description

The Business Analyst of the Data Analytics unit reports to the Data Analytics Unit Supervisor and is responsible for supporting primarily the Data Analytics Unit, Division Manager and Management team of the units within the Corporate Risk Reviews Division such as Consumer Loan Review, Commercial Loan Review, Mortgage Servicing Reviews, Mortgage Origination Reviews and Model Risk Monitoring. Through business intelligence and analytics efforts, the Business Analyst is responsible for supporting in the development of potential target audit reviews, special assessments needed by management, visual management tools, analysis of consumer portfolios key performance indicators for the products of auto loans and leases, credit cards, personal loans and mortgage, as well as compliance updates. The Business Analyst may perform all the key tasks and responsibilities identified below. All or some of the qualifications below may be attributed to the applicant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•    Provide direct support to the Data Analytics Supervisor and Consumer Loan Review Management Team in the analysis of consumer portfolios key performance indicators for the products of auto loans and leases, credit cards, personal loans and mortgage.
•    Provide support to the Data Analytics Supervisor and Consumer Loan Review management team in the identification and development of thematic reviews for the Consumer Loan Review unit, including development of visualization tools and management reports. 
•    Conduct quarterly peer bank evaluations for the Consumer Loan Review Management Team through the SNL Capital IQ Platform. Support incorporation of assessment into and Consumer Loan Review  scoring tool used to quantify final business unit assessments related to review efforts.
•    Participate in special assessments and reports regarding consumer portfolio products as requested and / or needed by the Division Manager, Data Analytics Supervisor or Consumer Loan Review Management team.
•    Maintain the  the Data Analytics Unit internal database, which tracks audit results, up to date. 
•    Develop visual management tools (Dashboards), as needed, with different key performance indicators (KPI’s) to provide visibility to Senior Management of the different review efforts performed by the Corporate Risk Reviews division. 
•    Performs queries and/or interfaces with other analysts to identify potential test populations.
•    Works with line of business personnel, quality control testing and review/arbitration personnel, quality control compliance personnel, risk and compliance personnel to identify, document and track root cause analyses for quality control findings
•    Perform additional trending and business analyzes for findings, defect errors, root causes, remediation activities, improvements, among other type of analyzes.
•    Assist the team in process improvement projects and activities. 
•    Either manually or in conjunction with established systems, review and maintain quality control tests in compliance with federal, local, investor, insurer and other regulatory requirements.
•    Participates in federal, local, investor, insurer and other training to enhance knowledge and skills.
•    Participates in internal and external projects as assigned.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.
 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This Job has no supervisory responsibilities but in special circumstances may lead the work of others.

Education

•    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
•    Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus but not required.
 

Experience

•    Minimum three (3) years of experience in consumer portfolios analysis, data analysis and/ or business analytics.
•    Individual credit lending experience (either in audit or underwriting) is a must. 

Additional Information

•    Fully Bilingual in English (both written and conversational)
•    Strong / Advanced MS Excel skills.
•    Knowledge of MS Power BI, MS SharePoint and O365 suite a plus but not required.
•    Professional certifications related to Data Analysis, Business Intelligence and / or Applied Statistics are also a plus.
•    Knowledge of Agile / Scrum framework encouraged.
