General Description

Analyze assigned credit relationships, including available financial information, legal aspects, collateral position and economic factors impacting borrower’s industry and evaluate all collections alternatives to minimize losses and maximize recoveries for the Bank. Negotiate with Borrower or Legal Representatives in order to achieve reasonable transactions, always protecting the Bank’s interest, and maintaining clear and professional communications. Apply knowledge of Commercial Credit Policies and Procedures, loan restructuring alternatives based on Borrower’s cash flow and financial position and recommend resolution to ensure maximum re-payment and loss mitigation. Proactively review loan administration and servicing information to protect collateral, comply with all Regulations and prevent audit findings. Document adequately all collection efforts, define and update Relationship Action Plans and provide periodic status to management, Risk Management and Business Units. Seek solutions and provide an excellent service through a fast and correct decision-making process of cases.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration majoring in Finance, Accounting, or Management from a credited university or college.

Experience

Two - year minimum experience in commercial credit analysis. 

Other Qualifications

  • Ample knowledge of financial statement analysis, problem loan structuring and work-out of commercial loans
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasive skills
  • Ability to analyze problems and necessities in order to make decisions that benefit the client as well as the bank
  • Broad Knowledge of the bank’s administrative system and MS programs like Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Knowledge in other internal applications like Moody’s, ORRAT, CL2000, IDA
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English and Spanish
  • Thorough knowledge of Commercial Credit Policy and Legal Aspects of Loan Documentation
  • Knowledge of local and federal laws and regulations that apply to the financial industry
  • Analytical skills, able to identify problems and find the best economic solution in a proactive manner
  • Organized and able to work with multiple tasks and responsibilities at the same time
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Critical thinker
  • Able to maintain good interpersonal relationships and team work oriented
