General Description
The Credit Cards Division is seeking a Business Analyst to provide analytical and financial support to the division, with a strong focus on financial analysis and reporting. This role is designed to support the day-to-day analytical needs of the Finance Manager, ensuring accurate, consistent, timely financial information and reporting to support effective management decisions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Consolidate, analyze, and validate monthly financial results, including revenues, controllable expenses, net income drivers, and KPIs.
- Assist in the preparation of variance analyses versus prior year, budget, and forecast, identifying trends, risks, and follow-up items.
- Develop and maintain recurring reports, performance trackers, and analytical files used for ongoing management review.
- Support the annual budget and periodic forecast processes by compiling data, validating assumptions, and maintaining supporting analyses.
- Perform recurring and ad hoc analyses related to profitability, expenses, revenues, portfolios, deposits, fees, and incentives.
- Analyze historical data and trends to identify performance gaps, efficiency opportunities, and improvement actions.
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of Power BI dashboards and Excel-based analytical tools, ensuring data quality and consistency.
- Consolidate information from multiple sources and perform data validations and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with Finance and business partners to gather information, validate results, and support the ongoing analytical needs of the Finance Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This Job has no supervisory responsibilities but in special circumstances may lead the work of others.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferably.
Experience
At least two (2) years of experience handling financial information/reports/analysis, budgeting, forecasting, or business analysis.
Experience supporting reporting, financial consolidation, or analytical processes preferred.
Exposure to business financial reporting, or financial services is a plus.
Other Qualifications
- Strong sense of accountability, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
- Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret large datasets.
- Ability to explain financial information in a clear and structured manner.
- Highly organized, dependable, and able to manage recurring responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with a manager and support analytical deliverables end to end.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (financial analysis, pivot tables).
- Familiarity with financial systems, reporting tools, or analytical platforms (ie. SAS, Cognos) preferred.
- Experience with Power BI or similar visualization tools is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.
