General Description

Responsible of analyzing business data and summarizes business performance drivers including financials, operations, customer and/or economic data in order to develop business intelligence, optimize effectiveness and/or predict business outcomes.  Tasks considers data and quantitative analysis, analyzing and interprets financials trends or patterns, data extraction, data integration from different sources, data consolidation, data mining, data interpretation, research, process automation, prepares ongoing reports and data visualizations. The successful candidate will turn data into information, information into insights and insights into conclusions for business decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop financial analyses of potential product and business model innovation:  estimate potential impact of initiatives under consideration
  • Prepare keep vs. divest analyses by analyze and understand business value drivers and potential profitability in order to facilitate business decisions
  • Evaluate and monitor investment decisions by review and provide feedback on investment proposals (technology and marketing), and perform investment monitoring
  • Develop post-mortem analysis of initiatives already implemented in order to compare results versus plan 
  • Support Consumer Lending Division to define and revise their strategic plans, initiatives and prioritizing financial and operational resources among the different areas.
  • Provide transaction support by develop and support financial analyses of potential M&A transactions
  • Business research through exploratory data analysis methodologies gathering information from different sources.
  • Retrieves, analyzes, and summarizes business, operations, customer and/or economic data in order to develop business intelligence, optimize effectiveness and/or predict business outcomes.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends, correlations, and patterns from different types of data sets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (cont.)

  • Translate data and analytical concepts in an adequate business language.
  • Communicate key insights and findings to Management and internal clients by interpreting data analysis results.
  • Presentation skills using story telling methodologies and applying the adequate presentation format.
  • Helps facilitate processes to translate data insights into strategic direction through visualizations and dashboards development.
  • Develop automated procedures to support business strategies
  • Machine Learning and data models development.
  • Analyze and update created reports related to business performance.
  • Handle and integrate databases in order to provide concise data solutions and perform validation exercises to ensure data quality.
  • Processes documentation.
  • Manages projects as assigned.
  • Complete audit and compliance requests as needed.
  • Establish good relations with internal customers.
  • Constantly be on the lookout for ways to improve by providing insights, discovering issues and delivering better customer value.


Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering, Finance or Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics and Master’s Degree in Business Administration (concentration in Finance preferred)


At least 5 years of experience in related managerial banking functions, management consulting engagements or analytical environment including exploratory data analysis.  Predictive and prescriptive financial modeling experience preferred. Consumer banking products experience preferred.

  • Data and business analysis with the ability to establish conclusions.
  • Ability to identify variances, develop financial and portfolio reports, make forecasts and recommendations
  • Ability to develop ad-hoc financial and credit risk models
  • Ability to establish data models and data structures.
  • Data process automation and/or Power BI dashboards development.
  • Project management skills.
  • Presentation and Storytelling skills.
  • High level of organization to establish priorities, simultaneously work with multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision.
  • Interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Flexibility to work non-business hours, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays when needed.
  • Some experience in one or more of the following applications or languages: SQL Server, Oracle, Power BI, Power Query and Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Power Point and Word) or SAS.
