General Description

The Popular Inc. Commercial Digital Banking Product Team is looking for a Technical Business Analyst to support our journey to rethink every element our Digital Banking experience. You will play a key role in our transformation strategy through revenue growth and capability expansion. You will have opportunity to work with cross functional teams across Relationship / Sales, Technology, Vendor, Product & Enterprise Architecture.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct research, gather and analyze data to produce actionable information to help define Business Requirements.
  • Document transaction and data flows, interfaces diagrams, and convert Business Requirements/ User Stories into Technical Stories
  • Gain detailed understanding of current capabilities / gaps and opportunities for streamlining for efficiencies, improving client experience or create competitive differentiation for Popular Inc, 
  • Leverage internal data, client feedback and market insights, as well as his/her own experience to pro-actively identify opportunities for enhancements, close competitive gaps, make process improvements to increase client satisfaction. 
  • Define Key Performance Indicators to measure successful implementation of a business solution. Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new enhancements and product capabilities. Define use case / test plan / test scripts, execute the tests and track issues through remediation. 
  • Assist in evaluating, analyzing, and planning new product offerings and identifying cross sell opportunities for existing products. Help define business case, project scope, and manage milestones & deliverables. Provide reporting and analytical support to Product Managers including analyzing sales, revenue, pricing, usage, transaction trends, and conduct competitive analysis.
  • Assist in evaluation of products / services from providers to create a robust ecosystem of services geared towards business and corporate clients.
  • Establish and maintain a thorough knowledge of client facing applications such as Online Banking, Mobile Banking, File Services, Payments and Receivables products.
  • Support Product Manager in managing strategic and tactical initiatives for their products; Support activities related to Compliance, Legal, Regulatory requirements
  • Assist with maintaining pricing and support re-pricing efforts for Cash Management products.
  • Manage all the application attestations & certification processes that are governed by Popular Inc.’s information security and technology standards.
  • Help manage client issue escalations through resolution by coordinating with Technology and Operations teams as well as vendors / partners as needed.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of Banking experience in either Data/Analytics, Product Management or Operations 

  • Expertise in defining and running queries, normalizing, analyzing & validating data, and ability to conduct competitor analysis 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency of MS Office suite is a must – in particularly in Visio, Excel, Word and PowerPoint 

  • Must be comfortable in participating in multiple, fast paced, high visibility projects; Ability to quickly grasp the big picture while managing the details will be instrumental for your success  

  • Ability to plan, manage, collaborate, and influence cross regional and cross-functional teams

Additional Information

  • Experience in managing projects and cross functional initiatives is a plus 

  • Prior research and analytics experience are a plus  

  • Experience in working with Commercial Banking and Small Business segments is preferred  

  • Ability to identify opportunities, quickly understand complex challenges and define / implement improvements in a matrixed organization 

  • Flexibility to travel 15-20%
