General Description

The Popular Inc. Solutions Architecture Unit is looking for a Business Analyst to support our journey to deliver projects to enhance our customer’s experience. You will play a key role in our transformation strategy through solutions analysis expansion. Also, you will have the opportunity to work with cross functional teams across IT and Business departments. We are an exciting team focused on transforming the business from the ground up. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in evaluation of business requirements from providers to create a robust ecosystem of services geared towards business and corporate clients.
  • Establish and maintain a thorough knowledge of client facing and front office applications such as Online Banking, File Services, Payments, Customer Relation Management, Teller Applications, among others.
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
  • Assist in the solutions designs by analyzing requirements; constructing diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing technical specifications.
  • Analyze business challenges, processes, and applications for improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct interviews and process design work sessions with business partners and team members.
  • Support Solution Architects with the strategic and tactical initiatives of the solutions; Support activities related to Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, Fraud, Compliance, Legal, Regulatory requirements.
  • Recommends controls by identifying problems, writing improved procedures or protocols.
  • Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Support Business Analysts to align the initiatives to the target state.
  • Examine current and new business procedures.
  • Actively participate in other initiatives to achieve business goals as needed.
  • Use a variety of data analysis and organization tools to discover the most impactful insights.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal network; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

Minimum Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information System or related filed.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of Banking experience in either System Analyst, Data/Analytics, or Product Management.
  • Experience in system development and ability to understand technical terms.
  • Must be comfortable in participating in multiple, fast paced, high visibility projects; Ability to quickly grasp the big picture while managing the details will be instrumental for your success.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency of MS Office suite is a must – in particularly in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to plan, manage, collaborate, and influence cross regional and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in analyzing projects and cross functional initiatives is a plus.
  • Prior research and analytics experience are a plus.
  • Experience in working with Online Banking and Banking Front-office applications is preferred.
  • Ability to identify opportunities, quickly understand complex challenges and define / implement improvements in a matrixed organization.
