General Description

The Business Systems Liaison position within the Origination Systems Unit specializes in identifying, analyzing, and developing technology solutions that support business areas using the ACAPS platform. The position is characterized by dynamism and constant interaction with the diverse units of Popular. The candidate must have the ability to identify areas of opportunity, design, develop and implement technological solutions in response to customer needs and strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze business needs and develop solutions that support credit-cycle strategies across multiple Business Units and lending portfolios, including Personal Loans, Credit Cards, Retail Lending Operations, Auto Loans, Leasing, and Equipment Financing.
  • Anticipate risk situations that may affect the achievement of objectives and take the necessary measures to prevent them.
  • Analyze and develop solutions to support credit product lifecycle strategies, collaborating across business units and organizational groups to address evolving business and customer needs.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with clients, anticipate their needs, present alternatives, and provide follow-up on agreements reached.
  • Communicate ideas with fluency, clarity, accuracy, and logical order in writing or in meetings and formal presentations to working groups.
  • Interact with different support and service areas such as Compliance, Legal, Audit, Popular Auto, Operations, as other business lines.
  • Assist management in the development of business plans and strategies and develop special reports upon request.

Education

Bachelor's Degree
Master's Degree in Business Administration or Computer Science

Experience

Minimum of two years of experience in project management related duties

Other Qualifications

    • Knowledge of the credit cycle and state and federal credit regulations.
    • Excellent analytical and logical skills.
    • Ability to interpret and analyze financial information.
    • Experience developing or automating reports and dashboards (Power BI, Cognos, SAS or similar) is a plus.
    • Exposure to continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/Six Sigma) o process redesign (Business Process Management).
    • Ability to deliver and create trainings, speeches, and presentations.
    • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet established deadlines.
    • Proficient oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
    • Excellent negotiation and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
    • Proficient in MS Office Basic and Power Apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office Project,
    • Knowledge in the use of ACAPS application is preferred.
    • Practical knowledge of artificial intelligence tools, including generative AI, and their application to business analysis, documentation, process improvement, reporting, or productivity is a plus.
