Cyber Fraud Officer

Full Time Job Opportunity

General Description

Responsible for identifying, preventing and investigating fraudulent activities in an organization by refining machine learning models and identifying proofing techniques, analyzing digital identity signals to detect fraud trends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on fraud-related escalations and complex cases.
  • Represent the fraud team in strategic initiatives, fraud working groups, and industry forums.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain fraud detection and prevention strategies using advanced analytical tools and software.
  • Develop and maintain cyber fraud detection and incident response playbooks.
  • Collaborate with analytics, fraud strategy, and engineering teams to refine machine learning models and identity proofing techniques.
  • Examine digital identity signals across multiple channels (web, mobile, call center) to identify emerging fraud trends and vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of risk-based authentication and identity verification strategies to prevent unauthorized access and fraudulent account creation. Implement tools in MiBanco and all customer-facing applications to enhance security.
  • Create operational procedures by working with fraud operations, cybersecurity and compliance teams and ensuring a holistic risk approach across the organization.
  • Provide education on identity fraud risks, tactics, and best practices to enhance fraud awareness across the organization.
  • Mentor junior analysts, providing guidance on fraud detection methodologies, data analysis techniques, and risk mitigation strategies. Serve as a mentor for the creation of alerts and strategies within the fraud team.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in cybersecurity, computer science information technology or a related field. 

Experience

A minimum of 5 years of experience in fraud investigation and analysis, Cybersecurity or identify verification.

Certificates and Licenses

  • Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
