General Description

Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of IT Programs and projects to ensure that programs benefit, and project goals are accomplished within the defined scope, time, budget and quality parameters established.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing, managing, and completing strategic projects related to technology.
  • Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, maintains project documentation, plans and reports, monitors and summarizes progress of related projects.
  • Act as the point of contact and communicate project status adequately to all participants. Understands and follows the Project Management methodology of Popular.
  • The candidate is responsible for leading projects from initial planning through any software development and all implementation processes.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Collaborating extensively with all contributors, communicating expectations throughout the project, and providing daily and weekly updates to key stakeholders.
  • Maintains and gives follow-up to project teams, programmers, and external consultants.
  • Leads the work of others, including other Project Coordinators and/or IT Project Managers, during the life of the program and related projects.
  • Controls and approves consultant hours invested in the project. Approves invoices from vendors regarding services rendered by third parties.
  • Oversights and coordinates activities, resources, and equipment to accomplish program benefits and project goals most efficiently.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation. Responsible for administrating change management, release management, and configuration processes.
  • Promptly escalates issues that cannot be resolved.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to identify and define program objectives, benefits, project requirements, and scope, as well as identify risks.
  • Understand company requirements and how they translate into application features and collaborate with the team to set specifications for new applications.
  • This includes evaluating existing applications to reprogram, update, and add new features. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues. 

 

Education

Bachelors or masters in technology, Industrial or Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or Business Administration.

 

Experience

  • At least seven (7) years of experience in project management and 5 (five) years of experience in projects related to Information Security, Information Technology systems design, installation, configuration, and maintenance (Software Development Life Cycle) or IT Infrastructure and Operations (I/O).
  • Excellent desktop software skills – MS Office Suite, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio.
  • High energy and ability to work independently and across multiple teams in a fast-growing environment.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in managing deadlines, scope, and budgets.
  • Excellent time management skills. 

 

Preferred Certifications/Licenses

  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMI-PMP) Certification  PMI
  • Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) Certification 
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification
  •  Certified Scrum Master 
  • Certified Product Manager (CPM) 
  • ITIL Processes Certification
