General Description

The Product Owner must work with internal and external Stakeholders to create specifications and work with cross functional development teams to deliver high quality software product enhancements for Popular’s Technology Management Division. Holding the ultimate accountability for the product definition that best meets the needs of the business. Needs to bring strong leadership and organizational skills to maintain a steady release plan for the product. Needs to manage the backlog of user stories to ensure that the work defined for the team is meaningful to the customer, yet realistic and attainable for the development teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage daily project goals and product schedules, adjusting expectations and setting priorities.
  • Work with customers, stakeholders and internal teams to create and customize products.
  • Write and capture user stories and user needs to communicate product objectives and requirements.
  • Schedule and lead meetings to surface issues, identify fixes and advance projects
  • Creating and maintaining a Product backlog and sorting the Product backlog items according to priority and business value.
  • Take lead of scrum teams and comply with  the role’s responsibilities as the Product Owner.  
  • Providing vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project
  • Define product vision, road-map and growth opportunities 
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
  • Lead the planning product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities
  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
  • Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends
  • Measuring progress and metrics (e.g. value delivered to clients in each sprint) Analyze business needs as they relate to client business objectives and creation of agile processes; agile development efforts on PICS or similar software focus on branches services.


Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.


Three (3) years of experience in Project or Product Management, Agile Development experience preferable. Experience working with PICS or similar software focus on branches services.
