General Description
The Program Manager will spearhead the delivery of Popular's IT Asset Management and End of Life Program. This role demands strong leadership, meticulous planning, effective risk management, and decisive decision-making abilities. The objective is to deliver results that enhance operational efficiency while reducing risk and strengthening vulnerability controls. Program Manager will oversee the entire lifecycle of IT assets, including hardware, software, and cloud assets, from enrollment to operation and end-of-life (EOL) phases. Ensure each asset is accurately captured in the IT Asset Management (ITAM) inventory and tracked throughout its operational life, tied to strategic projects and budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the management and execution of programs and projects tied to End-of-Life and IT Assets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Plan and track program budgets, expenditures, and approvals, including supporting initiatives that are presenting projects to the Investment Committee and other stakeholders for evaluation and approval.
- Allocate resources and manage assets effectively to maximize cost savings, boost revenues, and optimize asset utilization.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks during program execution to ensure successful outcomes. Conduct regular risk assessments to determine the EOL of existing assets. Review and validate EOL time frames to ensure accuracy and relevance, and develop replacement plans for assets nearing obsolescence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive initiatives and ensure alignment across departments and divisions.
- Supporting the entity’s risk assessments (e.g., information security, SOX, continuity and resilience, or business unit).
- Facilitate a culture of continuous improvement by incorporating EOL considerations into strategic planning and initial project stages, such as during requests for proposals or proofs of concept. Develop plans for maintaining the operational viability and security of IT assets beyond their EOL, if necessary.
- Address EOL considerations in contract provisions with third-party service providers. Ensure that contracts include terms for the support, replacement, or upgrade of assets as they reach EOL.
- Maintain a comprehensive inventory of electronic and physical information assets. Regularly review and validate the accuracy of the ITAM inventory, ensuring it includes all relevant EOL information.
- Ensure compliance with internal configuration and security standards, as well as contractual requirements. Identify potential vulnerabilities, such as hardware and software that need upgrades or are reaching EOL, and implement necessary security measures.
- Utilize ITAM inventories to manage license utilization, support costs, and the existence of unauthorized devices on the network. Ensure that IT assets are interoperable with the entity’s
- existing infrastructure and that necessary design changes are made to meet strategic goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures to govern all aspects of ITAM, including the identification, tracking, and replacement of IT assets. Ensure that personally owned technology assets allowed to connect to the entity’s network are properly managed and controlled.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, or a related field.
- Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP) are a plus.
Experience
- Proven experience in managing complex programs with significant organizational impact.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, resources, and stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and divisions.

- Knowledge of IT Asset Management.
