Senior Product Manager
Job Summary
Popular Bank is seeking a Senior Product Manager – Digital Banking & Payments to lead the strategy, delivery, and ongoing optimization of key digital banking and payment capabilities across consumer and small business channels.
This role combines hands‑on product leadership with limited people management, providing guidance, coaching, and prioritization support to a small product team while remaining directly accountable for product outcomes. The Senior Product Manager will work closely with Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Data & Analytics to deliver secure, scalable, and customer‑centric digital payment solutions in a regulated environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Product Leadership
- Own the end‑to‑end product lifecycle for digital banking and payment solutions, from discovery through launch and continuous improvement.
- Define and maintain a clear product vision and roadmap aligned to Popular’s digital banking strategy and business priorities.
- Translate customer, operational, and regulatory needs into well‑defined product requirements and user stories.
- Drive enhancements to digital payment capabilities including, but not limited to, P2P payments, bill pay, ACH, wires, cards, and emerging payment technologies.
- Use data, analytics, and customer insights to inform prioritization and measure product performance through defined KPIs.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Technology, UX, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Data teams to ensure solutions are secure, compliant, and operationally sound.
- Act as the primary product representative in cross‑functional delivery forums, ensuring alignment and timely execution.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive offerings, and regulatory developments to inform product strategy and roadmap decisions.
People Leadership
- Provide day‑to‑day guidance, coaching, and developmental feedback to 1–2 direct reports.
- Support team members in prioritization, execution quality, and professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative, accountability‑driven product culture while remaining a hands‑on contributor.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in product management, digital banking, payments, or financial technology.
- Prior experience leading or mentoring junior product professionals.
- Proven experience delivering digital products in regulated financial services environments.
- Strong experience working with cross‑functional, matrixed teams.
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree (MBA or related).
- Experience with consumer or commercial digital banking platforms.
- Knowledge of core banking systems and payment rails.
- Experience operating across multi‑market or bilingual environments.
- Spanish and English proficiency preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Hybrid work model with regular presence at Popular facilities in Puerto Rico.
- Occasional travel to support collaboration with U.S. mainland stakeholders.
- Primarily office‑based work with standard business hours.
