Systems Analyst
General Description
The CMDB & Asset Management Analyst is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) data. This role ensures that technology assets are properly tracked, mapped, and governed throughout their lifecycle, supporting operational efficiency, risk management, regulatory compliance, and service delivery.
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the consistency and reliability of asset and configuration data, enabling accurate service mapping, impact analysis, vulnerability management, and informed decision-making across the organization.
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintain and update CMDB records, including servers, applications, endpoints, databases, and other configuration items (CIs).
- Validate and monitor CI attributes such as ownership, environment, classification, and relationships.
- Manage technology assets throughout their lifecycle, from onboarding and deployment to retirement and disposal.
- Ensure technology assets are accurately tracked, classified, and aligned with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
- Define, maintain, and validate relationships between configuration items to support accurate service mapping and impact analysis.
- Conduct reconciliation activities and integration validations to ensure consistency between the CMDB and related systems.
- Support vulnerability management and risk assessment processes by maintaining accurate and reliable asset inventories.
- Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to improve data quality, governance, and asset management practices.
- Support regulatory, audit, and internal control requirements by maintaining accurate asset records and providing documentation and evidence as requested.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements related to CMDB and IT Asset Management operations.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) principles and practices.
- Understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, and technology asset lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with service mapping, configuration item relationships, and data governance concepts.
- Experience supporting audit, compliance, or risk management activities is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and best practices.
- Experience in data quality management, reconciliation processes, and reporting.
