Data Architect
General Description
We are looking for a Data Architect with strong experience in AI and ML to design, build, and govern data architectures that enable advanced analytics, machine learning, and generative AI. This role will define the data infrastructure, operating model, and roadmap in a highly regulated environment (banking), ensuring compliance, performance, security, and scalability.
Responsibilities
- Define architectures for data pipelines (batch and streaming) to support AI/ML, including feature extraction, feature stores, model serving, inference, and monitoring.
- Design and implement storage solutions for structured and unstructured data.
- Establish standards for data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical), schema evolution, governance, metadata, and lineage.
- Ensure data security, PII protection, encryption at rest and in transit, key management, and compliance with regulations (BCBS 239, PCI DSS, GDPR).
- Collaborate with Data Science, Analytics, Product, Risk, and Compliance teams to define requirements and deliver AI/ML solutions.
- Design platform components: orchestration, containerization, monitoring, logging, and scaling.
- Mentor data engineers, influence the roadmap, evaluate new tools, and modernize legacy systems.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field (advanced degree is a plus).
- 7–10 years in data architecture/engineering roles; 2–3 years in AI/ML pipeline architectures.
- Strong expertise in data modeling and SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and related storage/governance tools.
- Knowledge of batch and streaming pipelines (Kafka, Spark, Flink).
- Data governance, lineage, metadata, and regulatory compliance in finance.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
