Financial Analyst

General Description

The Financial Analyst reviews financial data and transactions to determine correct accounting entries, manages monthly closing, explains variances, and analyzes accruals. Responsibilities include preparing accurate financial statements, notes, and regulatory reports, resolving general ledger issues, and supporting business units on financial matters. The role requires timely task completion, oversees internal and external audits, and ensures organizational compliance and accuracy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • A comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) regulations is required.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills are essential, with proficiency in both English and Spanish.
  • Candidates should possess expertise in the analysis of financial data, including budgets, income statements, and forecasts.
  • Proficiency in the preparation of financial statements and the capacity to participate meaningfully in business discussions.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist in the accounting evaluation of special transactions or consultations referred by business units.
  • Support is required in the evaluation and implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
  • The candidate should systematically review and update processes in order to identify opportunities for enhanced efficiency.
  • Responsibilities include the development, preparation, and review of special reports, as requested by Management, other business units, or Corporate Comptroller.
  • It is essential to develop strong relationships with customers, which requires active participation in meetings with operations, business, and accounting departments.
  • Superior interpersonal abilities and the capacity to work effectively within a team environment are indispensable.
  • The candidate must be capable of performing efficiently under pressure and consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Outstanding organizational skills are necessary, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently. Timely communication of situations with the manager is also of great importance.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

Experience

At least three years of experience in the full accounting cycle, preparation and analysis of financial statements.

Certifications / Licenses

CPA or master’s degree is preferred
