Insurance Service Officer
General Description
Acts as Insurance Sales Representative of Popular Insurance’s Sales Center Team. Advice new and existing customers on risk prevention through insurance products. Provide customers with insurance alternatives based on a needs analysis. Also, collaborate with the team and other teams within the Organization to excel on the Customer Experience of our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- In charge of achieving sales quotas, based on referral management and conversion (hit ratios) established as part of the annual budget process. The goal is to achieve results by confidently building effective, trust-based relationships with clients by listening and identifying their insurance exposures/ needs to gain in-depth knowledge of client’s property and casualty needs and advise on the most appropriate coverage for their situation. Explain policy insurance terms and conditions as required. Handle daily inbound and outbound calls of prospects and policyholders to secure new business opportunities for the sales portfolio.
- Responsible for expanding customer relationship with Popular Insurance by identifying cross-sale opportunities and acts upon them. Develops and manages client relation to upsell insurance coverages to round up account based on client needs.
- Gain and maintain a thorough understanding of Insurance companies underwriting guidelines and product offering to ensure that matches customers need for risk management with the appropriate insurance alternative.
- Collect, analyze, archive, and document all necessary information to complete and support the issuance of a policy.
- Prepares insurance quotes and issue policies considering Insurance companies underwriting guidelines.
- Prepares and communicates customers insurance alternatives (quotes), and important policy considerations and specifications.
- Identifies cross-sale opportunities and acts upon them.

- Collect, analyze, archive, and document all necessary information to complete and support the issuance of a policy.
- Ensures that customers understand their insurance product and coverage. Advice customers on their general insurance needs- Property and Casualty, Life Insurance, Accident & Health policies, and Travel Insurance, among others.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate information of each client in AMS360 as well in our digital filing system.
- Evaluates renewal policy type and proactively requests to diverse third-party entities (insurance carriers or agencies) the issuance of policies, endorsements, payment letters, certificate of insurance, vouchers, that each customer requires.
- Other responsibilities that may be assigned including special projects.
Education
Experience
2-4 years of experience in insurance industry preferably.
Certifications/Licences
P&C / A&H and Life Insurance License -preferably
Work Schedule
Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm (The schedule may shift between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and 9:00 am to 6:00 pm).

Management of a challenging workload
Ability to work independently and as part of an integrated team.
Diligent sales and service skills with internal and external customers
Bilingual – Spanish/English verbal and written communication– required
Excellent communication Skills
Technical insurance knowledge in P&C Personal Lines
Word, Excel, Office 365
AMS 360 general knowledge preferred but not required.
