Loans Operations Technician

General Description
The Loan Operations Technician is responsible for processing various functions related to loans, including booking loan information, processing payments and payoff, credit cards and balancing items processed during the day. The role also involves responding to inquiries from internal departments and processing monetary transactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Loan Boarding:
• Analyze commercial loan documents and process loan disbursements, monetary transactions, credit cards and reserve lines, promptly and accurately.
• Daily booking of various types of loan information and processing of loan payments and payoffs.
• Perform daily balancing of transactions processed.
• Ensure compliance with SLA’s and Quality Tool SLA’s.
Customer Support:
• Offer support and orientation to internal customers regarding monetary transactions processing, data integrity, regulations, and system’s fields description and codes.
• Respond to communication and inquiries from various internal departments and auditors.
• Answer calls and provide support to Branches and Departments in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
Special Projects and Compliance:
• Participate in special projects and disaster recovery testing as needed.
• Assist in updating department procedures and testing new applications or validating test scripts for application changes.
• Ensure compliance with quality and service objectives
Backup for Popular Bank (One Bank)
The Loan Operations Technician is responsible for processing various functions related to loans, including booking loan information, processing payments and payoffs, handling wire transactions, and balancing items processed during the day. The role also involves responding to inquiries from internal departments and processing Service Request Portal (SRP) transactions for Popular Bank loans.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and related experience
Note: Related experience refers to the professional background related to the responsibilities and skills required for the position.
Experience
At least 18 months of previous banking operations experience.
Additional Requirements
• Effective oral and written communication skills in Spanish (advanced level) and English (fluent)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams and Outlook
• CL2000 system knowledge preferable.
• Analytical skills
• Customer service oriented
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Travel availability is required. Flexibility to travel at any moment and work from alternate sites designated by the Bank.

Hybrid work schedule
Monday to Friday- 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
Availability to work extended hours, holidays and weekends.
