General Description
Popular is looking for process-oriented people who can design and improve processes with a human centered approach aimed to improve the quality of products and services, achieve cost reductions, and increase efficiency, while ensuring workers experience, safety, and complying with government regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop robust Business Cases and Project Charters for approval of process improvement & design projects.
- Lead complex process improvement or process design projects to identify efficiencies and cost reduction opportunities, applying new technologies as well as re-thinking the business and operating models. Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Provide project management skills.
- Integrate Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools with human centered design topics, as needed.
- Analyze data with advance Lean Six Sigma tools and knowledge (i.e., Statistical Process Control, Multiple Regression, Process Capability, General Linear Model, among others) to define and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), uncover opportunities, track processes performance, and drive decision making.
- Deliver projects on time, to budget and quality. Quantify projects ROIs.
- Build awareness, increase knowledge sharing, and drive adoption of modern Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques as a SME (Lean Six Sigma Yellow, Green or Black Belt) within the team.
- Execute with accountability, integrity, and work-ethics.
Education
Bachelor or Master’s degree with a major in Industrial Engineering or related field, preferably
Experience
At least two (2) years leading process improvement and/or design projects.
Certifications
Lean Six Sigma Yellow, Green or Black Belt Certification

- Customer-Centric: Collect, understand, and anticipate the needs of internal and external customers, meeting their expectations and requirements. Use customer needs as the basis for decision making and organizational action.
- Strategic Agility: Able to establish a desired future; effectively translating it into action plans. Understand the business environment, assessing major trends and their impact.
- Analytical Discipline: Use critical thinking combined with mathematics to solve difficult problems through a careful and systematic evaluation of information, possible alternatives, and consequences.
- Innovation and Digital Skills: Ability to achieve results by providing innovative ways of working with operational and technological considerations.
- Mental/Learning Agility: Comfortable with complexity; fast and active learner of software tools and digital solutions.
- Public speaking and presentation ability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
- High domain and knowledge of MS Office 365 applications: Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint.
