General Description

The Product Owner must work with internal and external Stakeholders to create specifications and work with cross-functional development teams to deliver high quality software product enhancements for Popular’s Customer Experience Division.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects related to technology, focused on Popular’s public website or other assigned websites or digital tools. Is part of a multi-disciplinary Scrum team whose main goal is to assess, define, develop, deploy and maintain projects. Serves as main point of contact for stakeholders. Works closely with Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, Developers, Designers, and other Product Owners. Performs peer reviews to ensure that best practices are followed during new implementations. Delivers new best practices to the team as they are defined. Communicates deadlines, maintains project documentation, plans and reports, monitors and summarizes progress of project. Understands and follows the Agile methodology of Popular. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Maintains and gives follow up to project teams, programmers and external consultants. Coordinates activities, resources and equipment to accomplish the project goals in the most efficient way. Responsible for administrating change management, release management and configuration processes. Liaise with stakeholders to identify and define project requirements, scope and objectives.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's or Master Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Computer Sciences preferred.


  • Proven experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems, applications, and related products. 
  • Proven experience with Agile methodology, Scrum

Certifications / Licenses

  • Scrum Certifications such as CSPO or CSM preferred
  • PMP and/or Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred

Other Qualifications

  • Competence with testing, flowchart, and data mapping tools and procedures.
  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to conduct research and user testing.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
