Business Analyst
General Description
Proactively evaluate and test solutions which will result in operational efficiencies within the Operations unit. Proactively design and improve processes with a human centered approach aiming to improve the quality of products and services, achieve cost reductions, and increase efficiency, while ensuring workers experience, safety, and complying with government regulations. Supports the team’s effectiveness by enabling them to improve their practices and delivery processes within the Agile framework.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify areas of opportunity and lead process improvement or process design projects to identify efficiencies and cost reduction opportunities.
- Apply new technologies as well as re-think the business and operating models.
- Integrate Lean or Six Sigma methodologies and tools with human centered design topics, as needed.
- Analyze data with Lean or Six Sigma tools and knowledge (i.e., Statistical Process Control, Regression, Process Capability, Pareto Charts, among others) to define and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), uncover opportunities, track processes performance, and drive decision making.
- Focus on operational efficiencies that will result in an increase in the business.
- Establish communication with different areas, including the systems group, to meet the business’ objectives.
- Evaluate technology solutions that can be integrated to optimize processes and improve overall performance.
- Verify, test, analyze and document processes as required to improve processes.
- Understands current business needs and develop strategies to provide solutions focused on achieving the established objectives.
- Analyzes data using statistical methods to facilitate analysis and identification of process improvements solutions.
- Provides support to business units in the sustainability of completed process improvements projects and to promote a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ensure that all process documentation is completed and updated to ascertain process optimization sustainability.
- Track projects and ensuring completion of the suggested improvements.
- Supporting teams to complete their part in projects and providing the documentation or tools needed to complete the different stages of a project.
- Develop monthly metrics or as requested.
- Convert data into visual stories using data visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, and Tableau
- Ensure successful planning, execution, and completion of process improvement initiatives.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This Job has no supervisory responsibilities but in special circumstances may lead the work of others.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering
Experience
At least two years of related experience in project coordination and/or management; Preferably, have the Project Management certification (PMP) and experience or courses in Lean/Six Sigma philosophy.
Certifications / Licenses (desirable)
- Business Analyst Certification
- PMP
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
Other Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point), Microsoft Project, among others. Know about data bases such as SQL and Access.
- Analytic abilities in order to evaluate and synthesize complex and diverse information.
- Have clear and effective communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Be able to work with little or no supervision and with interdisciplinary groups. Have the ability to create and offer effective presentations to work groups; identify, understand and solve situations while applying concepts, analytic techniques and offer alternatives to solutions.
- Be able to manage, with agility, changes in tasks, identify available resources and establish priorities.
- Ability to work under pressure, complete multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Have an intermediate or advanced proficiency in both written and spoken English.
