Executive Compensation Manager II
Regular, Full Time Position
General Description
As Manager of the Executive Compensation team, you will lead the analysis, assessment, design and administration of executive compensation programs, including equity compensation, to support the business to meet its goals through effective talent attraction, development, and retention. You will work with multiple dimensions of executive compensation, spanning performance management, base and variable pay (short- and long-term programs), governance and disclosures, among others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Contribute to the Bank’s executive talent and compensation strategy; administer and effectively implement the organization’s executive compensation program, including short-term and long-term incentive plans.
• Collect, analyze and interpret data to ensure that the Bank’s executive rewards are aligned with benchmark practices which will enable businesses to fulfill business strategy.
• Conduct large scale and ad hoc executive compensation analyses and assist with projects, such as reorganizations, as needed.
• Lead executive compensation processes including the annual compensation review, merit increase, benchmarking, gender pay analysis, among others.
• Lead the digitalization of executive goal setting, performance and compensation processes (SuccessFactors).
• Conduct job evaluations and make compensation recommendations for new or existing executives.
• Use data and analysis to model incentive plan effects and make recommendations.
• Lead the preparation of compensation information for proxy textual and tabular disclosures and Talent & Compensation Committee meetings of the Board of Directors.
• Monitor trends and ensure compliance with executive compensation governance requirements established by Popular or external authorities (Securities and Exchange Commission [SEC], Nasdaq exchange, etc.)
• Engage with outside consultants, executives and other stakeholders, on matters related to compensation tax withholding for executives working in multiple tax jurisdictions.
• Conduct presentations on executive compensation and benefits programs.
• Manage the relationship with executive compensation vendors, including contract, billing and risk/compliance related processes.
• Work closely with business leads and provide them with relevant analytics and insights.
• Ensure optimal utilization of HRIS (SAP) and specialized equity administration software.
• Work closely with multiple areas including Legal, Fiduciary Services, Finance, et al.
Minimum Education
Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Engineering, or similar fields.
Experience
A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Compensation or its related practices. Prior experience in financial institutions is a plus.

• Proven ability to consolidate and manipulate large data sets with a commitment to accuracy and details.
• Detailed orientation for numbers and comfort with complex modeling.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new analytical tools, techniques, and/or software.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate and collaborate in a large, matrixed corporate work setting.
• Proven ability to achieve objectives in a dynamic, often ambiguous, environment.
• Ability to prioritize well and be flexible in a fast-paced environment with changing demands.
• Able to think in an unexpected way and propose creative solutions to complex problems.
• Demonstrated understanding of financial concepts and processes.
Effective Communication
• Polished presentation skills, strong oral and written communication skills and fully bilingual (English and Spanish).
• Experience engaging, influencing, and presenting to executives and senior leaders.
• Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to varying audiences.
• Ability to build rapport with vendors.
• Proven ability to collaborate in problem solving with other organizational areas
• Demonstrated experience with HRIS systems (e.g., SAP, SuccessFactors) and employee data is strongly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in the MS Office 365 (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word, TEAMS, etc.), particularly Excel.
Certifications / Licenses
Certifications are highly desirable but not required.
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
Professional in Human Resources (PHR)
Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)
