General Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Business Analyst to join our Corporate Strategic Planning unit. Corporate Strategic Planning sits in the COO & Corporate Business Strategy group and oversees the strategy of the Corporation. Our ideal candidate has excellent analytical skills and can translate business results, metrics, and data, into strategies to support our corporate goals. This role is responsible for creating and monitoring metrics, developing, updating, and distributing reports, developing data visualizations, and providing meaningful insights through storytelling, while contributing to the decision-making process. This position requires the ability to understand the strategic priorities and connect the dots on how different initiatives impact the business strategy, and how resource and budget decisions drive results. It involves analyzing business results, financial data, competitive intelligence, and strategy execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Gather, review, and analyze business results and financial data, identify and escalate business problems, and suggest solutions to support the execution of the corporate strategy.
- Monitor the execution of the corporate-wide Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
- Scan and analyze external trends and market information to gain intelligence on competitors’ performance and actions to assess how they may affect our strategy.
- Prepare peer comparison analyses.
- Monitor key economic indicators and maintain management informed of the current Economic Landscape and outlook.
- Consolidate information and create dashboards for use in senior management decision making.
- Create formal reports, narratives and presentations to executive management and the Board of Directors.
- Participate in special projects of the division that have impact across the Corporation.
- Constantly look for new ways for improving performance and operational efficiencies.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This Job has no supervisory responsibilities but in special circumstances may lead the work of others.
Minimum Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or business-related field from an accredited university or college. Relevant experience may replace this requirement if a bachelor’s degree is in a different field. MBA in Finance, Management or Strategy is a plus.
Experience
-
Experience managing and analyzing financial information is required. Experience working with financial institutions is a plus. At least four years in related work experience is preferred.
Certifications (Nice to have)
- CPA, CMA, and/or CMC a plus, not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's)
- Ability to think critically through business models, digest competitive intelligence, and break down complex issues into actionable solutions.
- Knowledge and skill in the analysis and interpretation of business financial information.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Excellent organization skills, able to establish priorities, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting, playing a key role in strategic projects with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively at all levels of management, with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills (in both English and Spanish).
- Prepare presentations and documents summarizing business analyses for the management team.
- Familiarity with data visualization & BI tools and the ability to create comprehensible visualizations of complex information, a plus.
- Creative, empathic, self-starter, curious, results-driven, change agent, high tolerance for uncertainty.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Power BI.
