General Description
The Senior Financial Analyst for Credit Cards is responsible for providing advanced financial analysis, portfolio insights, and performance reporting to support strategic decision-making across the credit card business, including the PREMIA and Cash Rewards programs. This role plays a key part in budgeting, forecasting, KPI monitoring, profitability analysis, and executive reporting, while helping identify financial trends, business opportunities, risks, and performance drivers. The position requires strong analytical expertise, a solid understanding of credit card portfolio dynamics, and the ability to translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for senior leadership and cross-functional partners, including Product, Risk, Accounting, Operations, Fraud, and Technology. Compliance with internal policies, data governance standards, and regulatory requirements is essential to the role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Analyze financial results for the credit card business including portfolio performance, profitability, income and expenses, delinquency and other key financial metrics.
- Prepare financial reports with accurate and timely information for management.
- Investigate and analyze business financial results variations and trends; proactively provide insight to management about potential opportunities and/or anticipated challenges.
- Develop and maintain recurring and ad‑hoc financial reports and/or analyses to address business questions, emerging risks, and support strategic initiatives.
- Leverage financial systems (e.g., S/4HANA or equivalent) to produce accurate reports and analyses.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support
the annual budget and reforecast processes for the credit card portfolios (consumer and commercial portfolios). - Develop and maintain detailed documentation about assumptions, trends and risks.
- Maintain ongoing monitoring of actual vs budget/forecast variations and proactively communicate relevant information to management.
- Build and maintain robust financial models to support forecasting, scenario analysis, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Partner with business owners to understand drivers of performance and ensure alignment between financial results and strategic objectives.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Governance
- Partner with Product, Credit Risk, Accounting, Fraud, Operations, and Technology teams to align metrics, definitions, controls, and reporting requirements.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on credit card financial performance, including reward programs and accounting models, supporting initiatives and answering complex data and reporting questions.
- Support audits and regulatory reviews by preparing documentation, analyses, and explanatory materials as needed.
Data Management, Automation & Tools
- Extract, transform, validate, and analyze large datasets from multiple internal sources using Excel, and other analytics tools.
- Develop advanced Excel‑based models and analytical tools (e.g., Power Query, Power Pivot, complex formulas, structured modeling).
- Design and maintain Power BI dashboards and automated reporting solutions to enhance data visibility and decision support.
- Ensure data accuracy, reconciliation to source systems, and proper documentation of methodologies and assumptions.
Communication & Leadership
- Prepare clear, concise executive‑level presentations and materials that translate data into insights and recommendations.
- Present findings to management and senior stakeholders, explaining key drivers and business implications.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration with major in Finance, Accounting or related field.
Experience
At least three (3) to five (5) years of experience handling financial information, and financial reporting, and financial analysis.
Experience working with large datasets and complex financial models.
Experience within banking or financial services is preferred.
Certifications / Licenses (is a plus)
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
Other Qualifications
- Knowledge in the principles of accounting or corporate finance.
- Strong proficiency in financial analysis and general accounting to evaluate and interpret information.
- Demonstrated analytical, decision-making, and effective problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge in database extraction and reports generation systems.
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A high level of organization and ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
- Collaboration and stakeholder management.
- High ethical standards and accountability.
- Strong ability to interpret information and visually display the message in presentation form to facilitate strategic communication to Senior Management, among others.
- Advanced knowledge in Word, Excel PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Outlook, Power BI (preferred).
- S/4HANA or other similar financial planning and reporting systems is plus.
- Strong communication skills (verbal/written - Spanish/English). Fluent documenting.
