Senior Program Officer

General Description

  • Responsible of leading or administering activities related to social commitment, such as: community affairs, non-profit organizations by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops social commitment strategies.
  • Develop, lead and coordinate community and foundation efforts to meet needs, objectives, and policies of individual, special interest group, business concern, nonprofit organization, or governmental agency, serving as in-house staff member or as outside consultant.
  • Organizes conferences and events.
  • Manage budget, which includes budget recommendation and reallocation, overseeing grants or collaborations expense account or money usage.
  • Analyzes and recommends sponsors and donations proposals approval.
  • Recommend organization's social commitment strategies and procedures changes. Interprets policies.
  • Represents employer during community affair projects and at public, social, and business gatherings.
  • Design, arranges for and conducts multi-faceted, complex community contact programs.
  • Lead outreach efforts for special programs.
  • Oversee grant-related process/program and the grants administration.
  • Follow up and assess funded initiatives.
  • Might coach and or oversee the work of others internally or externally, like vendors, consultants, or collaborators.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Liberal Arts, or Education from a four-year accredited college or university and five years related experience; or a combination of education and experience. At least one year of experience with Social, Economic & Community Development.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Analytical Skills- Exhibits one or more of the following:
    • Focus: Stays focused on main issues, prevents irrelevant issues or distractions from interfering with timely completion of assignments
    • Analytical: Collects, researches and complements data; Synthesizes complex or diverse information
    • Design: Demonstrates attention to detail; Applies design principles; Generate creative solutions
    • Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Develops alternative solutions
  • Communication Skills- Exhibits the following:
    • Oral Communication: (Spanish and/or English) Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Demonstrates group presentation skills
    • Written Communication: (Spanish and/or English) Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Presents numerical data effectively
  • Computer Skills:
    • Knowledge of one or more of the following software: Word Processing, Presentations, Spreadsheet, Internet, Internal Business software, other related software.
  • Project Management:
    • Knowledge of project coordination, identification of business needs, work plan, budget control, time management, resource allocation, team management and status reports. Must demonstrate leadership, logic, and reasoning skills.
  • Foundation:
    • Knowledge of community affairs, grants proposals, non-profit organizations techniques and methods.
  • Work Environment:
