General Description

The IT Supervisor manages assigned products and their technology roadmap. The candidate leads the technology discipline within Customer Experience to ensure compliance with all processes and procedures associated with the intake, approval and tracking of initiatives. The role plays an important part in the definition of business case models, prioritization, approval processes, and reporting requirements.

The IT Supervisor understands key business objectives and strategy of the product, and develops technology roadmaps focused on innovation, business objectives, OKRs (objectives and key results), customer needs, KPIs (key performance indicators), and financial targets. Ensures end-to-alignment of business priorities to financial targets by collaborating and relaying dependencies within and across Product Owners in the Customer Experience team. Serves as point of contact and technology expert, to ensure decisions are in line with strategic and financial goals on an ongoing basis, working with cross functional product teams using Agile, Product Management and DevOps best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages the technology roadmap, including aligning business and technology priorities
  • Leads the integration of  innovation, product vision and strategy, from a technology standpoint to Customer Experience team initiatives.
  • Collaborates on a daily basis with senior leaders in the Channel Experience, Technology, Information Security, Risk, and Finance.
  • Fuels the identification of existing and emerging technologies that can help add value to our customers.
  • Ensure the creation of reports and dashboards to capture product success.
  • Identifies and oversees third party vendor relationships and facilitates the contracts process.
  • Ensures compliance with Popular’s standards and processes.
  • Promotes constant collaboration with support and business units throughout product development lifecycle in order to manage dependencies in and across releases.
  • Ensure Product team thrives through the practice of Agile and Scrum rituals.
  • Ensure Scrum of Scrums interactions with other teams are aligned, planned, and executed successfully.
  • Review’s product backlog and ensures proper prioritization.
  • Leads iteration planning from the technology perspective to ensure team focuses through 5-week sprints combining planning, research, product work, learning, and productive retrospective activities.
  • Supports team administration, managing team members on a day-to-day basis.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises at least 2 full time employees.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Coach and develop employees.  Foster a spirit of teamwork that allows for disagreement over ideas as well as diversity.

Education

Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Finance, Marketing, Engineering or a related field.

Experience

  • Required 3 years’ experience leading and managing projects.
  • Preferred knowledge in IT and marketing related leadership roles.
  • Experience managing one or more projects involving multiple functional areas and budgets.
  • Experience launching and scaling digital products.
  • Demonstrated communication effectiveness, and good project management discipline.
  • Ability to foster trusting relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
