Talent Acquisition Supervisor
General Description
This role is part of the Our People - Centers of Expertise, reporting directly to the Talent Acquisition Manager. As the Talent Acquisition Supervisor, you will have oversight of all the recruiting and selection cycle within the regions we serve. Through effective guidance and mentoring of a diverse team, this role will develop and implement Popular’s long-term outreach, attraction, and selection strategies, plans, and processes to support the organizational needs. Additionally, ensure all recruitment goals are met while maintaining a collaborative and engaging team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition Full Cycle
- Lead a comprehensive Talent Acquisition strategy, manage resources, and drive smooth execution of hiring activities against defined SLAs and KPIs.
- Facilitate the adoption of new strategies, policies, and procedures for sourcing candidates through various channels.
- Strong operational capabilities to effectively manage broad requisition volumes.
- Effectively participate in collaborative conversations with business leaders, hiring managers, and human resource units to define the attraction strategy and prioritize needs.
- Develop high standard attraction methodologies by regions through comprehensive market analysis.
- Utilize data-driven insights and metrics to assess the effectiveness of talent acquisition strategies and make data informed decisions.
- Analyze and recommend changes related to key performance indicators, recruitment costs, and time-to fill metrics.
- Support the outreach efforts and collaborate in the social media strategies; track and measure efficacy to present assertive recommendations.
- Proactively identify, develop, and implement tools, resources, and solutions that help shape a positive employee experience.
Leadership and Compliance
- Lead the team effectively to support business and candidate needs to ensure decisions in an equitable and fair environment.
- Ensure credibility and trust to manage sensitive and confidential information throughout conversations and processes with objectivity.
- Lead projects, motivate and influence teams, and drive execution to the achievement of results.
- Mentor team members to ensure continuous improvement and individual career growth.
- Ensure that Talent Acquisition Operation complies with federal and state laws / regulations, and internal compliance policies.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience..
Experience
Seven (7) years of experience of talent acquisition 360 lifecycle in a large complex organization or five (5) years of experience supervising or leading projects within a Human Resources discipline, Center of Expertise area or as an HR Business Partner.
Certifications/Licenses
The following certifications and/or licenses are desirable:
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR)
- Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)
- DDI - Targeted Selection
- Coaching
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s)
- Robust technical acumen: knowledge of current recruiting market, how to attract and build talent pipelines that align with workforce planning and organizational goals. Foster innovation, productivity, employee well-being and engagement, to enhance the Company culture.
- Compliance skills: knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action Plan and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion guidelines. Ability to manage highly restrictive and confidential information. Robust conflict resolution skills.
- Communication skills: Ability to foster trusting relationships with colleagues and clients. Highly developed written and verbal communications skills in English & Spanish. Polished in preparing presentations, executive summaries, and business reports in English for executive audiences.
- Strong business acumen: ability to understand the needs and concerns of business stakeholders and colleagues and respond promptly and effectively to stakeholder requests. Ability to conduct analysis on work procedures, business results, and recommend changes to improve the effectiveness of the business's management.
- Strong analytical skills: Collects, research and complements data; Synthesizes complex or diverse information. Demonstrates attention to detail; Applies design principles; Generate creative solutions.
- Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Develops alternative solutions. Manage crisis effectively under extreme time limitations while exercising excellent judgment. Exercise independent judgment and discretion while using company policies and practices to analyze situations, spot potential issues and determine appropriate action. Navigate ambiguous situations and persevere over internal and external barriers to drive resolutions keeping in mind legal implications.
- Project Management: Excellent organization capacity to define priorities, meet deadlines, and flexible to change. Knowledge on project coordination, identification of business needs, work plan, budget control, time management, resource allocation, team management and status reports.
- Operational/Regulations Processes: Knowledge on budget administration, resources allocation, organization’s policies, and regulations. Ability to establish, conduct and track operational processes properly.
- Computer and Technological Skills: Proficient in MS Office 365. Experience with Human Resources Information Systems and Application Tracking Systems; SAP/SSFF desirable but not needed.
