General Description

Ensures the integrity of Fiduciary Services accounting information by recording, verifying, and analyzing distribution transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive, verify, and process participant’s requests from Recordkeepers for Retirement Plan distributions. Comply with IRS and Hacienda regulations. 
  • Prepare journal entries to maintain trust account balance and reconciliations. 
  • Respond client calls and service requests, including claims, direct deposit rejections and check cancellations. Process accounting entries generated by these transactions. 
  • Analyze periodic monthly payments to fulfill client’s needs in a timely manner. 
  • Prepares journal entries and tax payments withholdings related to retirement plans distributions via the IRS and PR Treasury Department platforms. 
  • Support Trust Account Officers in carrying out the responsibilities of properly generating Trust Account Statements. 
  • Assists with special projects as requested to enhance or develop unit processes. 

Education

Bachelor's Degree preferably in Accounting or Finance. 

Experience

At least one year of experience in accounting related tasks and client service.  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's)

  • High level of organization, able to establish priorities, work with multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge in federal and state laws that govern the Fiduciary Services industry and/or related activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge in MS Office programs like: Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
