General Description

Plans and implements financial institution sales and marketing programs targeted toward the business community.  Sells financial services to customers of financial institution by performing the following duties.

Develops prospects from current commercial customers, referral leads, and other sources.  Contacts prospective customers to present information on available services such as deposit accounts, lines-of-credit, sales or inventory financing, cash management, or investment services.  Determines customers' financial services needs and prepares proposals to sell services. Reviews business trends and advises customers regarding expected fluctuations.  Attends sales and trade meetings to develop new business prospects.  Makes presentations on financial services to groups to attract new clients.  Promotes and cross-sells other establishment products and services as appropriate to customer requirements, such as business checking, business credit card, and letters of credit.  Prepares forms or agreement to complete sale.  Evaluates costs and revenue of agreements to determine if they are profitable to continue.  Sells services such as check processing and collecting, record keeping and reporting, trust, investment, or safekeeping services, or products such as traveler’s checks, to other financial institutions.  Solicits businesses to participate in consumer credit card program. Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a sales plan by identifying optimal methods for attaining branch targets and sales goals
  • Monitor branch sales targets and goals, promoting initiatives to achieve targets and deposit goals
  • Confidently build effective, trust-based relationships in the community to gain knowledge of needs and align with products and services offerings most appropriate
  • Analyze and use sales data to proactively develop initiatives to drive retail business, as well as in person interactions with prospective customer base, community involvement, etc.
  • Cultivate internal partnerships with commercial customers to promote integrated sales and service efforts across branches.  Mentor fellow branch employees, encourage a constant focus on providing a second to none customer experience and promote the use of digital channels
  • Support marketing campaigns and product launches, modify sales techniques and leverage marketing tools and branch technology to achieve results
  • Design an educational platform for clients on self-service capabilities and encourage use of digital service channels/banking options (e.g. Mobile Banking, MiBanco Online, Easy Deposit, digital payments, etc.)
  • Stay abreast of changes to banking environment, bank competition and customer’s business environment
  • Incorporate recognition activities to foster sales achievements
  • Ensure service standards are met in accordance with corporate guidelines
  • Manage customer complaints impacting service standards
  • Promote environment of ongoing customer feedback and continuous improvement
  • Promote the branch’s active involvement within the community and report all CRA related activities to appropriate unit

 

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business Administration

Experience

Two to three years related experience.
