Enterprise Data & Analytics – Data Platform Enablement Specialist 1


The Opportunity


Data Platform Enablement Specialist 1 is an entry level role within the Enterprise Data & Analytics function of the firm. This role is to support the operational needs and development and deployment of data operations pipelines that support the firm's strategic goals. This role will make sure that standards set by EA, InfoSec and Cloud Governance are enforced through the pipelines that are designed and implemented across the Enterprise Data and Analytics organization.

 

Your key responsibilities: 

 

As Data Platform Enablement Specialist 1, you will be responsible for onboarding applications, integrations and entitlements for the Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) team. Working in an Agile structure, you will collaborate with leaders in the EDA organization on developing a programmatic approach on how applications in that space can be brought into production through automated pipelines and controls that are designed. You will foster partnerships with our InfoSec, Enterprise Architecture and Cloud Governance teams to vet out their controls and make sure that those EDA pipelines conform to those standards and can be tested by respective third parties. You will be hands on in the latter design stages of these pipelines and implement these in a safe and responsible manner to the organization. This role will also play a supporting role in our FinOps objectives, in that the organization will be aware of our global spend through personalized controls, observability and automation so that our executive leadership can track our ROI objectives.

 

Specifically:

  • More than two (2) years developing scripts or data pipelines using modern programming languages such as Python (preferred), ksh, bash, Ruby or JavaScript.
  • Entry level (1+ years) knowledge of Cloud technologies such as AWS (preferred), Azure or GCP.  
  • Basic knowledge of one (1) year working with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation and have designed custom modules that can be consumed either internally or by use of third-party organizations.
  • Basic knowledge (2+ years) of DevOps principles and tools such as Git, Docker, GitLab, Nexus or Jenkins. Have used these in some roles in the past.
  • Basic understanding (1+ years) working with APIs and tools such as Postman or Python to setup scripts for data pipelines.
  • Understanding of principles and standard methodologies around Data Architecture and the ability to document said architectures that would conform to the highest standards.
  • Entry level understanding of SQL to query data (ideally ANSI SQL).
  • Good interpersonal skills with documented use cases with how the candidate has led data efforts in the Cloud.  
  • Strong ability work and advance initiatives across various teams.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Positive approach towards always searching for improvements in our space and the ability to generate meaningful KPI’s for the organization.
