Credit Analyst - LPU

US Comm Cred Business Banking & Retail

We are looking for a Commercial Credit Analyst to join our Commercial Banking Loan Production Unit (LPU) in Miami Lakes, Florida.

In this position you will be responsible for performing timely credit analysis for small business loans and commercial real estate investment request submitted primarily through Popular Community Bank's branch network.  These commercial credit underwriting deals generally consists of credit requests up to $1.5M.
 

In this position, you will:

  • Prepare written analysis on new loan applications to measure financial strengths and weaknesses of borrowers and guarantors, collateral adequacy and general credit worthiness.
     
  • Spread financial statements as needed through a financial software package and subsequently analyze system-generated reports for preparation of written reviews.
     
  • Gather information on actual and prospective borrowers through inquiries and investigations with professional firms or individuals and in-house information on borrowers.
     
  • Review commercial appraisals.
     
  • Assist Branch Managers and Loan Officers in the proper structuring of loan terms and the understanding of fundamental credit principles.
     
  • Review and evaluate proposed modifications to decisioned loans with Loan Officers and Branch Managers.
     
  • Maintain a computerized loan tracking system to ensure that Loan Officers and Branch Managers are kept up to date on pending loan requests.
     

To be considered, you will need:

  • Familiarity with financial statements, corporate and individual tax returns and personal credit reports.
     
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance combined with a minimum 1 year Commercial credit analytical related experience.
     
  • Computer literate; fluency in Microsoft Office programs, Excel analysis required
     
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
     
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate investment transactions.
     
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume environment.
