Commercial Banking Specialist - CRE

Portfolio Management


This position is responsible for the effective servicing of a designated portfolio and provides day-to-day support to a designated team to ensure customers are effectively serviced, their inquiries responded to, and operational situations resolved promptly and efficiently.
 

In this position, you will:

 

  • Maintains profiles of priority customers and keeps assigned loan officers advised of major developments; assists with managing customer relationships with routine, repetitive transactional requests.
  • Provide support administering day to day credit and loan processes inclusive of department’s past due accounts, tickler review, credit extensions, and customer inquiries. This may include calling past due customers.
  • Review documentation for renewals and restructurings as approved by management.
  • Prepare and review loan application documentation requests, contact loan officers for missing information. Clarify facts and approvals. Walk customers through the application process and assist them with loan products and structures
  • Monitor overdraft accounts daily and report findings to assigned officers for approval. Contact customers as necessary.
  • Maintain Electronic Files on shared drive and prepare new electronic credit files. Review existing documentation in files for accuracy and consistency and ensure all information is included in the file before submitting it to Credit.
  • Verify accuracy of new loan booking data on system against note terms and conditions. Interpret results and report findings related to loan portfolio. Identify posting errors and submit for corrections.
  • Handle incoming customer calls, related to loan application status, billing, escrows, and loan histories and account analysis. Conduct investigations into loans, researching client disputes, incorrect billing, non-receipt of statements and late charges.
  • Work with Closing officers to process renewals and restructures and ensure customers loan application is closed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with management and internal legal counsel to ensure that legal counsel is assigned to cases where representation is necessary.
  • Research, investigate and resolve customer discrepancies, complaints and payments.
  • Act as liaison with various units responsible for providing service to the commercial customer including but not limited to the processing of loans, payments, financial analysis, statements, etc.
  • Regularly interact with third party service providers; provide feedback to management regarding issues or concerns with provider.
  • Manage the application of payments on the loan system to conform with the terms of the loan documents as advised by the Loan Officer or Portfolio Analyst. Pro-actively seek information from clients and prospective clients to understand possible changing situations, needs and desired benefits, communicate information to relationship officer.
  • Ensure respective databases are accurate and up to date for customer information.
  • Compile data and generate management reports as needed

To be considered, you will need:

 

  • Minimum Required: High School diploma; or related field combined with a minimum of one year of experience in commercial banking
  • Desirable Education/Experience: Property management company experience or commercial lending, a plus 

     

Base Salary & Benefits

Our base salary for this position located in New York City generally ranges between  $80,000.00 and $95,000.00  annually, depending on business need and on your qualifications and experience. Base salary does not include incentive compensation, commission, or any other type of remuneration or benefits.
